VAA 8th Juried Invitational Exhibit

As you may/should know, juried exhibitions have been around since ancient Greek times. It is a well-accepted way in which artists establish and maintain relevance in the world of art. The subjectivity of the chosen/hired juror is the pivot point around which the chosen artworks revolve.

The Visual Arts Alliance has produced 71 such exhibits and this one follows the professionalism the organization is known for. The works, as selected by the juror, Christopher Higham, are from new, rising artists that have all demonstrated commitment to their craft and industry through their involvement with the VAA. These are serious artists that have been/will be around for a long time. I know the group well (I’m the current president). It is, frankly, the best buying opportunity I use to build our personal art collection and am willing to share with you here. VAA takes no commission so you should be receiving studio prices from artists.

The opening reception is Wednesday, May 27 from 6-8pm at 1600 Smith Street (concourse level). Awards are presented at 7:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public, of course.

I will update this post with the program catalog which includes prices soon.
