Williams Tower Gallery: Assistance League Exhibit

The Williams Tower Gallery, previously Transco Tower Gallery, has been under the watchful eye of Sally Sprout for over 30 years. A large, expansive corporate space, it is often worth the daytime visit to see the work on display. That is certainly the case now through February 24 while the “Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2017” (the 47th year for this annual event). This is the kind of survey exhibit that helps you keep up with many artists. In particular, favorites of mine in this exhibit¬†are Susan Budge, Erik Hagen and John Slaby. Everyone else featured here are now on my radar and I’d like to see more of their work.

This exhibit was organized by the Assistance League of Houston. The juror was Jose Esparza Chong Cuy of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. However, the exhibition does not provide website addresses or emails for the artists. The Assistance League only offers that you call the exhibit coordinator (Jaci Day, 713/780-3315). This is quite unfortunate but I’m going to share what I can, anyway. Oh, and this is not the case of all exhibits at Williams Tower Gallery.

The exhibit address is 2800 Post Oak Blvd and is open Monday – Friday, 8am-6pm.
